Australia's revised Telecom Consumer Protections Code comes into force

Australia's updated Telecommunications Consumer Protections Code came into force on 1 August. The revised Code was written by the Communications Alliance and its members in collaboration with consumer representatives, regulators and Government. It is a code of conduct for the telecommunications industry in Australia, designed to provide community safeguards in the areas of sales, service and contracts, billing, credit and debt management, financial hardship, and changing suppliers.
