Austria leads in compliance with online shopping rules in EU

According to the EU Consumer Scoreboard, Austria had the lowest rate of unfair practices in online shopping (3.4 percent), reported Der Standard. Online purchasing increased from 29.7 percent of the population in 2007 to 55.1 percent in 2017. According to the EU Commissioner of Justice Vera Jourova, trust of both consumers and retailers has increased but retailers still fear the risk of fraud and non-payment in cross-border transactions.
