Austrian govt drafts law on spy software for investigations

Monday 10 July 2017 | 13:12 CET | News
Austrian government has published a draft act that allows law enforcement authorities to install a Trojan software remotely in computers and mobile phones, and even game consoles, for investigative purposes, reported Der Standard. The original wording was criticised by the TU Wiena and put on hold. Now the expert public has until the end of August to express their opinions on the draft. It has already been opposed by the Association of Internet Service Providers (ISPA) and data protection organisation Epicenter.works.
