Austrian mobile operators launch Pre5G at Christkindlmarkt in Vienna

Wednesday 21 November 2018 | 09:52 CET | News
Austrian mobile operators T-Mobile Austria, Hutchison Drei Austria and A1, in cooperation with the City Council of Vienna, are launching a Pre5G test at the traditional Christmas market on Rathausplatz. The aim is to indicate that 5G is the city's future. It uses micro cells integrated into T-Mobile's network that could very closely resemble the design of forthcoming 5G micro cells. 5G hardware is not yet available on the market and so the test uses LTE cells, hence the tests are called Pre5G.
