Austrian NGOs criticise government's Security Package

A wave of opposition has arisen in Austria against the Security Package adopted by the government at the end of January, reports Der Standard. The association Epicenterworks is initiating a campaign, supported by other NGOs, aiming to open up broad discussion on the proposed measures, including a country-wide network of video cameras, ban on anonymous SIM cards, state supervision software and a new regulation on data retention.
