Austrian portal recommends buying handsets separately

According to the Austrian comparison portal Tarife.at, it is more advantageous in the majority of cases to purchase a smartphone separately than on a service contract with an operator, reports derStandard.at. The research was conducted from October to November on 25 combinations of a device and a contract, and 181 SIM-only tariffs from the big three operators A1, Hutchison Drei Austria and T-Mobile Austria, as well as their low-cost brands and discounter MVNO operators.
