Austrian regulator to head Berec in 2012

Georg Serentschy, head of Austrian telecoms regulator RTR, was named the new chairman of the European telecoms agency Berec for 2012. He replaces Chris Fonteijn, head of the Dutch regulator Opta. Leonidas Kanellos, head of Greek regulator EETT, was named vice-chairman in 2012 and will take over as chairman of Berec in 2013. Edward Richards, head of the UK regulatory body Ofcom, Goran Marby from Swedish regulator PTS, and Catalin Marinescu, president of Romania's Ancom will also serve as vice-chairs.
