Austria's RTR sees growing use of mobile phone, less use of fixed lines in 2019

Austrian regulator RTR said in its telecom market monitor report that customers last year spent 22.3 billion minutes on mobile, up over 2 percent from the prior year. The consumption of mobile data volume rose more than 30 percent in 2019 to 1,900 petabytes. The mobile phone penetration based on the use of M2M Sim cards was at 201 percent at the end of 2019. About 1.85 billion texts were sent, below the 2 billion mark for the first time.
