Austria's Social Democrats scupper draft 'federal Trojan' law

On 27 July, Austria's Social Democrats (SPO) scuppered a draft law that would have allowed police to monitor messaging services such as WhatsApp and Skype, reported Reuters. It would have given the authorities too much scope to spy on people's lives, they said.
