Avaya expands SDN Fx archictecture with new stackable switch

Avaya has expanded its SDN Fx software-defined networking architecture with the introduction of a new line of stackable Ethernet switches, the ERS 5900 series. The company said the new switches are designed to support new and emerging technologies as well as existing ones, allowing customers to migrate to next-generation architectures that unify wired and wireless access and the Internet of Things (IoT). The ERS 5900 series supports MACsec for enhanced security, Power over Ethernet Plus (POE+) for 802.11ac deployments and can be extended to accommodate 60W of Power over Ethernet (uPOE) for
