AVC patentholders file infringement case against TCL at Duesseldorf court

Patent licensing company MPEG LA announced that patentholders in its H.264 licensing pool have sued TCL Deutschland and TCT Mobile Germany, subsidiaries of Chinese multinational electronics company TCL Technology, before the district court of Duesseldorf. The companies believe that TCL has infringed patents essential to the AVC/H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10) digital video coding standard used in mobile devices, televisions and other products.
