AVM releases new Fritz!Box operating system

Tuesday 24 January 2017 | 10:29 CET | News
German network equipment manufacturer AVM has launched the new Fritz! OS 6.80 for its Fritz!Box 7490, 7580 and 7560 modems. The new software incorporates band steering, allowing the box to switch between a 2.4 GHz band and the 5 GHz band where one is overloaded. Users also have the option to select transmission rates for the Guest Network via an online monitor, as well as set up a Wi-Fi guest access welcome page. The online monitor shows guest usage rates, as well as downstream rates for internet and IP-TV.
