Amazon Web Services (AWS) has earmarked USD 800 million to build its first data centre in Argentina, reports Bloomberg. The facility will be located in the coastal city of Bahia Blanca in the province of Buenos Aires to take advantage of its free-trade zone and tax exemption on energy consumption and cheaper labour costs, said the report, adding that AWS will also get export tax breaks and a reduction in income tax from 35 percent to 15 percent.
