Axiata profit jumps 82.8% in Q2

Axiata Group saw its profit after tax jump 82.8 percent quarter-on-quarter to MYR 479.1 million in the three months to 30 June 2017 from MYR 262 million in the previous quarter. Excluding share of losses from the Group's associate, Idea, which recorded MYR 109.4 million loss for the quarter against MYR 25.2 million in the previous quarter, Axiata's profit after tax for the quarter ended June would have more than doubled for the period.
