Axtel revenues jump 30% to nearly MXN 3 bln in Q1

Mexican fixed-line operator Axtel's first-quarter revenues jumped 30 percent year-on-year to MXN 2.9 billion from 2.2 billion in the year-earlier period. EBITDA increased by 8 percent to MXN 728 million in this year's first quarter, from MXN 672 million in March 2013. In the three month period ended 31 March 2014, Axtel saw an operating loss of MXN 148 million compared to an operating income of MXN 2.9 billion for the year-earlier quarter. In the first quarter of 2014, operating expenses totaled MXN 1.1 billion, which represents an increase of 6 percent from MXN 1.06 billion in the same
