Back Market raises EUR 276 mln in funding round, opposes private copy levy on refurbished devices

Back Market, a marketplace dedicated to the sale of refurbished electronic products, has raised EUR 276 million in a Series D funding round led by equity firm General Atlantic. The operation, which makes the France-based start-up reach "unicorn" status, comes at a time when the French parliament is considering whether to extend the system of private copy levies to reconditioned smartphones and similar devices.
