Baden-Wuerttemberg to dedicate EUR 3.9 mln in funds to broadband roll-out

The German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg has announced plans to invest EUR 3.9 million to deploy broadband throughout the state, reported local daily Neckar Chronik. The funds will be used to finance 27 broadband projects in municipalities where private investment has been lacking, announced Baden-Wuerttemberg's Ministry of the Interior. The state is setting aside EUR 1.4 million alone for the district of Rhein-Neckar to finance cable laying as well as planning costs, it said.
