Bahnhof reports itself for breaking law on data retention

Swedish ISP Bahnhof said it has reported itself to national postal and telecoms regulator PTS for breaking the law by declining to resume customer data retention. It said it is handing itself in for breaching the Law on Electronic Communications (LEK) 2003:389. Bahnhof is ignoring a government ruling that Swedish law applies and that telecoms companies should start storing customer information again, after the European Court of Justice declared the European Data Directive invalid on 08 April.
