Bancontact app reaches 50,000 payments per week

The Belgian payments system Bancontact said it's generating around 50,000 transactions per week on its mobile app. Since the start of April it's also added the ability to link multiple Bancontact cards to the app. Bancontact is the main issuer of debit cards in Belgium and accounted for over 1.31 billion transactions last year. Payments online and over mobile devices totaled 27 million, up 30.7 percent from 2014.
