Bangladesh govt signs deal with private fibre operators

Bangladesh's private fibre network operators have gained access to the countrywide fibre backbone of the government owned Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB), Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported. Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network (NTTN) operators will now be able to expand coverage to 210 more sub-districts, or upazilas, across the country by using the 3,800 km backbone. The agreement is part of a tripartite deal signed by PGCB and NTTN companies Fiber@home and Summit Communications, allowing the NTTNs to use the backbone for the next 15 years. The telecom regulator
