Bangladesh nears 80 mln internet subscribers

Bangladesh ended September with 79.22 million active internet subscribers, up from 77.17 million in August, The country's mobile internet base reached 73.81 million in September, up from 71.88 million in the previous month, according to figures from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). The fixed-line internet user base climbed to 5.32 million in September this year from 5.17 million in August. The number of WiMAX subscribers rose to 90,000 in September, from 89,000 in August.
