Bangladesh opens up e-commerce to overseas sites

The Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of the country, has issued a circular permitting online purchasing from overseas websites for the first time using international credit cards, albeit on a limited scale. Cardholders may spend a maximum of USD 1,000 a year to buy goods and services from the global online market, The Daily Star reported online. They can spend the USD 1,000 on top of the maximum limit of their travel allowance. However, the value of each transaction may not exceed USD 100. Currently, a traveller is allowed to spend USD 2,000 in South Asian Association for Regional
