Bangladeshi operators replace 22.56 mln Sim cards in 5 years

Mobile operators in Bangladesh have replaced close to 22.56 million Sim cards over the past five years. The operators identified three main reasons for the replacements: lost, damaged, or stolen. However, the number of Sim replacements also increases when operators launch promotional offers. Last year, the operators replaced some 4.27 million Sim cards, in 2010 the number stood at 4.80 million, in 2009 the number was 7.86 million, in 2008 replacements stood at 3.56 million, and in 2007 the number was 2.06 million, the Financial Express writes citing figures from the Association of Mobile
