Banglalink grows EBITDA 5% in Q1

Bangladesh mobile operator Banglalink saw its revenues fall while EBITDA rose in the first quarter. Revenues fell 13.1 percent to BDT 9.3 billion from BDT 10.7 billion a year earlier due to lower usage per subscriber resulting from the disconnections of high value suspected VoIP customers, which adversely affected revenues and is expected to have a prolonged negative impact during 2013. Revenues were also affected by the regulator enforced 10-second pulse for all packages, which was implemented during September 2012. However, EBITDA went up 5.3 percent to BDT 3.8 billion from BDT 3.6 billion
