Barclays supports launch of Circle money transfer app in UK

Barclays is supporting the launch of the Circle money transfer app in the UK, reports The Guardian. The Circle app allows users to transfer money with messages and emojis. It also supports currency transfers between pounds and dollars, with Euros to follow later. Barclays will provide the infrastructure to operate in the UK. Circle has been awarded an e-money licence by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and customer deposits will be held by Barclays.
