Barclayscard to launch contactless payments wristband

Monday 9 June 2014 | 10:38 CET | News
The Barclaycard division of Barclays bank plans to launch a new wristband for contactless payments, reports The Telegraph. It will roll out the 'bPay' band at sponsored events during 2014, ahead of a wider launch in 2015. The device uses the contactless payment technology in Barclays' credit and debit cards. Barclaycard expects the bands to have other uses, such as allowing entry into music and sports events. It will offer the bands free of charge and will allow them to be used by most UK card users.
