Base adds 136,000 customers, revenues up 13% in Q2

Belgian mobile operator Base added a net 136,000 new customers in Q2, including 4,000 postpaid, to finish June with a total base of 4.4 million. The company said it grew its 3G coverage to 90 percent of the territory, with the addition of 60 base stations during the quarter, and it plans to accelerate the roll-out of HSPA in the 900MHz band. Service revenues improved 12 percent year-on-year in Q2, while total sales rose 13 percent to EUR 207 million. EBITDA rose 25 percent to EUR 74 million. Parent company KPN estimates that Base's market share in revenue terms has reached 19 percent.
