Base adds 45,000 net prepaid customers in Q1

Belgian mobile operator Base Company, formally KPN Group Belgium, added 45,000 net prepaid customers and lost 8000 postpaid ones in the first quarter. The total customer base including Wholesale reached 3.5 million at the end of Q1, an increase of 37,000 from Q4. Base estimates its current market share up year-on-year to 20 percent. Underlying revenues and other revenues rose 1.7 percent from the year before, supported by underlying mobile service revenues growth at 1.9 percent. The EBITDA margin slid to 25.1 percent from 31.4 percent, mainly due to the highly competitive mobile market.
