Base revenues down 10%, loses 15,000 customers in Q3

Tuesday 22 October 2013 | 15:48 CET | News
Belgian mobile operator Base reported third-quarter sales down 10 percent to EUR 181 million, with over half the decline coming from regulatory price cuts. Service revenue was down 13 percent to EUR 158 million, while handset sales rose to EUR 23 million from 20 million a year ago. EBITDA dropped 36 percent to EUR 47 million, and cash flow was nearly zero after a 26 percent rise in capex to EUR 46 million. The KPN subsidiary lost 15,000 customers in the three months, including 61,000 fewer prepaid users and 46,000 new postpaid additions, for a total 3.337 million at the end of September.
