BBC commissions 8 new dramas

The BBC has commissioned eight new dramas, announced the broadcaster's controller of drama commissioning, Polly Hill. Howards End, a four-part adaptation based on the EM Forster novel, is due to start production in summer 2016. The production will be written by Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and playwright Kenneth Lonergan. The others are Press, Broken, The Replacement, Requiem, The Woman in White, and Paula.
