BBC controller outlines vision for channels

Charlotte Moore, the BBC's controller of TV channels and iPlayer, has outlined her plans for the British public broadcasters main channels. Speaking at an event hosted by BBC Director-General Tony Hall for writers, actors, industry and media, Moore said BBC One will remain a channel for broad-based entertainment, "uniting us as a nation around big, shared moments and events", while BBC Two will offer more challenging programmes, including moving beyond entertainment to informative shows. BBC One will be expected to entertain as well as "inform and educate along the way", Moore said, adding:
