BBC iPlayer requests hit record 3.1 bln in H1

BBC said iPlayer streaming requests reached a record-breaking 3.1 billion in the first half of the year, a jump of 47 percent from the year before. The second quarter had a particularly strong showing, with requests leaping 59 percent to 1.6 billion. Viewing was already up before to the UK lockdown, going 34 higher year-on-year in the first quarter.
