BBC looks to cut IT costs with new short-term contracts

The BBC plans to replace the its existing IT contract with multiple short-term agreements as it looks to cut IT costs by hundreds of millions of pounds, reports The Telegraph. After years of failures with the Atos system, the BBC is looking to award several new outsourcing contracts under Project Aurora. Industry sources said the first of these, worth up to GBP 230 million over 7-years, is expected to be awarded soon to connect multiple broadcasting and production facilities.
