From 22 March, up to one million BBC micro:bits are being delivered free to every year 7 student in England and Wales, year 8 student in Northern Ireland and S1 student in Scotland. Launched as part of the BBC Make it Digital initiative, the BBC micro:bit is a pocket-sized codeable computer and aims to help develop a new generation of digital pioneers. Students will own the devices, allowing them to keep their device as they move up through the school.
