BBC trials subtitles for live channels on iPlayer

The BBC said it started trialling subtitles for live channels on BBC iPlayer and claimed this is a world first for a major video-on-demand service. The trial is available on Windows and Mac computers, allowing allow deaf and hearing-impaired viewers to watch content live instead of having to wait for a catch-up broadcast.
