BBC TV must improve appeal to younger, ethnic viewers

BBC Television is performing very strongly in terms of quality, value for money and its effectiveness in delivering the BBC's public purposes, according to a review conducted by the BBC Trust. On average 81 percent of people watch BBC channels each week. However, the Trust has identified three key areas for improvement - BBC Television needs to improve its appeal to younger and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) viewers; it should further increase the distinctiveness of its offer; and the BBC should work more collaboratively to meet audience needs efficiently.
