BBned, InterNLnet, SURFnet start VDSL pilot

Dutch network operator BBned, ISP InterNLnet and the higher education network SURFnet are starting a pilot of VDSL services. The broadband services will offer download speeds of up to 40 Mbps downstream and 10 Mbps upstream. The four-month pilot is planned for Diemen, Duivendrecht and Amsterdam Zuid-Oost, starting with several dozen users in Diemen. The service will be offered free to the first testers, in order to gain feedback about technical aspects and user experience.
