BCE reports wireless-driven Q2 revenue, profit growth

Canadian fixed and wireless operator BCE reported operating revenue up 2 percent to CAD 5.33 billion in the second quarter, compared with CAD 5.22 billion a year earlier, reflecting a 2 percent rise in service revenue and a 2.3 percent rise in product revenue. Adjusted EBITDA grew 2.5 percent to CAD 2.2 billion, driven by a 5.3 percent increase at Bell Wireless, 1 percent at Bell Wireline and 2.4 percent at Bell Media. The company saw an increase in mobile ARPU, and grew its IPTV and internet users. BCE reported a net profit up 25.2 percent to CAD 759 million, due to higher adjusted EBITDA,
