BCX plans to cut 284 jobs as Covid-19 hits demand

South African IT services company BCX has initiated a section 189 process under the Labour Relations Act and expects approximately 284 employees to be made redundant. The implementation of a new business model will entail structural changes that are expected to result in significant job losses, the Telkom-owned company said. BCX went through a major retrenchment programme in late 2018.
