BDUK reaches over 4.3 mln 'superfast' broadband connections

Over 4.3 million premises in the UK had a 'superfast' broadband service (over 24 Mbps) made available by the end of 2016 as a result of Broadband Delivery UK-supported projects. That's up from 4.0 million at the end of June 2016. According to the latest quarterly update on the BDUK, the state programme had granted to local authorities a cumulative GBP 513.6 million in cash terms up to the end of December, meaning 8,391 premises covered per GBP 1 million spent.
