Be Mobile may pull soccer backing over Btv-Multichoice row

Friday 10 May 2013 | 12:58 CET | News
Be Mobile, which sponsors the Botswanan men's soccer Premier League, has reportedly threatened to withhold prize money if a broadcasting deal is not struck soon, Mmegi reported. The Botswana Football Association (BFA) and the Botswana Premier League (BPL) said that a deal had been reached with South African pay-per-view channel Supersport, part of Multichoice. However, the deal will only come into effect if state broadcaster Botswana Television (Btv) agrees to purchase a feed at BWP 4.2 million from Supersport, Mmegi reported.
