Be Mobile subscriber base hits 200,000

Botswana Telecommunication Corporation's mobile operator Be Mobile has doubled its customer base in the past five months to reach 200,000 active users on its network, reports local paper Mmegi. The mobile operator, which last May announced it had reached 100,000 customers after a year in operation, said it has been registering steady growth. BTC CEO Thapelo Lippe praised the firm's growth in the past five months, saying the mobile operator had been acquiring about 20,000 new customers a month.
