Bell Media has agreed to buy Canadian French-language terrestrial TV network V and ad-supported VoD service Noovo.ca, for an undisclosed amount. Bell Media cut a deal with the shareholders of Groupe V Media, also for related digital assets. The company said the acquisition show its commitment to providing “engaging” content in Quebec on traditional and new platforms. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.

Groupe V Media owns and operates television stations in Montreal, Quebec, Saguenay, Sherbrooke, and Trois-Rivieres, and has affiliate stations in Gatineau, Riviere-du-Loup and Val-d'Or. In addition to V and Noovo.ca, the company operates specialty channels Elle Fictions and Max, not subject to the transaction.
