Tigo Honduras (Millicom) has announced the appointment of Santiago Benedit as its new CEO, replacing outgoing Otto Pineda. The new CEO told local daily La Prensa that the operator was planning to accelerate investments to extend its 4G network to 50 percent of the country's population by the end of the year. Cable TV coverage is also being extended from 400,000 to 525,000 homes by the end of June with the operator also hoping to end the year with 1.5 million users of its Tigo Money mobile wallet service.
