Berlusconi's Fininvest sells 7.8% stake in Mediaset

Fininvest, the holding company of former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, has sold a 7.8 percent stake in Italian broadcaster Mediaset, raising around EUR 377.2 million. The company announced that it had sold the asset through an accelerated bookbuilding at a price of EUR 4.1 per share and that the proceeds of the offering will be used to strengthen its financial structure and diversify its portfolio. Fininvest is still the largest investor in Mediaset, with a 33.4 percent stake, although recent Italian press reports have suggested that Berlusconi could be looking to exit from
