Bip Mobile to launch low-cost MVNO in Italy

Bip Mobile will launch a MVNO service in Italy this autumn, promising to cut tariffs in order to reach 5 million customers in four years. According to a report in Italian weekly Panorama, one of the shareholders and CEO of the venture is Fabrizio Bona, a former manager of TIM, Wind and Vodafone, who will present the new low-cost operator to the market on 20 September. Bip Mobile will have a similar business model to France's Free Mobile and will operate on the 3 Italia network. The company plans to invest EUR 100 million by 2014, mainly for setting up 3,000 sales points throughout Italy and
