Bitel Peru hits 1.5Gbps in first 5G tests

Peruvian mobile operator Bitel, a subsidiary of Vietnamese state-run telco Viettel, has carried out its first 5G tests in the country to mark the fifth anniversary of its market entry, reports Vietnamese portal Vov.vn. The operator reached download speeds of 1.5Gbps and upload speeds of 78.7Mbps during the 5G testing event, far higher than the designated speed of its Peruvian 4G LTE network.
