Bitkom says 1 in 3 people in Germany uses tablet

One in three people in Germany over the age of 14 now uses a tablet computer, according to ICT association Bitkom. This means 24 million people there now use tablets. This is a rise to 34 percent from 26 percent and 18 million people in January, said Bitkom, and up from 13 percent at the beginning of 2013. Budget tablets with 7-inch or 8-inch screens start at about EUR 150, and tablets are often offered as an incentive to sign a telecoms contract. Bitkom said in the 14 to 29 age group, 46 percent own a tablet, as do 42 percent of 30 to 49-year-olds. In the age group 50 to 64, 34 percent
