Bitkom says 90% of young Germans make mobile voice calls

Some 94 percent of people aged 10 to 18 send messages, either as SMS texts, or using messaging systems such as WhatsApp, iMessage or Hangouts, according to ICT industry association Bitkom. Meanwhile, it found that 79 percent of young people possess their own smartphone, and 22 percent own a traditional mobile phone. It said 90 percent of respondents actually do use their mobile handset to make telephone calls.
