Bitkom sees 1 mln new IT, telecom jobs in Germany by yr end

German IT association Bitkom expects close to 1 million employees in the IT and telecoms sector by the end of the year. The association said that 26,000 new jobs were created in 2014, or two and a half times as many as previously expected. An additional 21,000 new jobs are expected for the current year, taking the total to 990,000 employees. Bitkom president Dieter Kempf attributed the growth in the IT sector to software companies and IT service providers, where employment increased by 58,000 to 785,000 between 2013 and the end of this year.
